Doula.
Dreamer.
Dog mom.
Hello! My name is Alexandra, but you can call me Allie. I grew up in Western Massachusetts and moved to Brooklyn in 2011 to study clinical psychology. As I was finishing my degree, I started working as a nanny for families around New York City, which allowed me insight into the inner workings (and failings) of family planning, perinatal health, and child-rearing support throughout my community. Those insights were my calling to birth and postpartum work.
My goal as a birthworker is to nurture the autonomy and confidence of parents, and I firmly believe that every individual deserves to be seen, respected, and supported on their unique journey. This means that I center client advocacy and empowerment in my work by providing evidence-based education and individualized, unbiased support throughout the perinatal experience. I am passionate about supporting growing families and approach my work with a balance of tenderness, enthusiasm, and a good sense of humor.
When I’m not attending a birth or supporting postpartum families, I enjoy long bike rides, roller skating, adventures with my puppy, and cooking unnecessarily large meals to share with my friends.
